Tollway Website Improves Job Application Process

The Illinois Tollway is making it easier for job seekers to learn about and apply for employment opportunities at the Tollway.  Beginning today, individuals can visit the Tollway’s website to view current job openings, download and complete an application and email it directly to the Tollway.  

“The Tollway has good jobs in all different types of work environments: toll collectors, engineers, information technology techs, mechanics, carpenters, painters, laborers, accountants and others,” said Illinois Tollway Executive Director Kristi Lafleur.  “We encourage Illinois’ best and brightest to apply for jobs at the Tollway and want to make it as easy as possible for job seekers to access these opportunities.”

Last year, the Tollway launched a new feature that lets job seekers provide their email address allowing the Tollway to send the latest job announcements directly to their inbox.  As of February 2012, more than 7,000 individuals have signed up to receive these email notifications from the Tollway.

For years, a few clicks of the mouse would bring job seekers to the “Employment Opportunities” section of the Tollway’s website, www.illinoistollway.com, to view available positions.  While they could download an application, fill it out and submit it through U.S. Mail or in person at the Tollway headquarters, individuals will now have the ease of filling out the form electronically and emailing it directly to jobs@getipass.com. 

Completed applications may still be mailed to the Tollway or dropped off in person at the agency’s Downers Grove headquarters between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Information about current employment opportunities can also be accessed on the Illinois Tollway's job hotline at 630-241-6800, ext. 2565. The Tollway only accepts applications during the timeframe for which a position is posted.
