Thousands of Naperville Residents Without Power After Cable Damaged on Route 59

City crews currently on scene to restore power after outage in northwest Naperville Friday afternoon.

For Naperville residents living on the northwest side of the city, this gloomy Friday became a bit darker this afternoon.

City officials said 3,000 Naperville residents are without power after an electric cable was damaged while contractors were working on the Route 59 expansion project.

According to the city, a contractor performing work on the project bored through a city electric cable, causing the outage.
