Residents Invited To Sign Up for Citizens Academy

Registrations are being taken for tenth annual Naperville Citizens Academy. The 11-week course begins in April.

Residents who wish to learn more about the inner workings of Naperville government are invited to sign up for the city’s tenth annual citizens’ academy beginning April 24.

The Naperville Citizens Academy is designed to give residents hands-on experience and unique insight into the City of Naperville. The academy will cover the city’s council-manager form of government, department operations and city services.

Classes meet for eleven weeks from 6:30 to 9 p.m. every Thursday, beginning on April 24.

Each week features a different topic through information and interactive sessions with elected officials, department directors and representatives from Naper Settlement, the Naperville Public Library and the Naperville Park District.

The program culminates in a graduation ceremony officiated by Mayor A. George Pradel and the City Council on Wednesday, July 2.
