Repairs Begin Thursday at Route 59 Metra Station

The city of Naperville is alerting commuters that some parking spaces will not be available during parking lot maintenance.

Commuters who park at the Route 59 Metra Station should be aware that upcoming maintenance and repairs may temporarily close portions of the parking lot while work is underway. 

The is planning to begin maintenance work at the lot Thursday and as a result, barriers may be put in place blocking some of the parking spaces, according to the city of Naperville. 

The work is expected to be completed by May 23. Repairs will include curb and sidewalk maintenance, the city said. Repairs will be done after 8 a.m., but barricades will be in place and commuters need to obey the barricade closures even if construction is not taking place.

Pedestrian access to the station should not be affected, the city said. 

In June, striping will be done at the parking lot, but the work will be completed on the weekend.

The maintenance is part of the city of Naperville’s Municipal Parking Lot Improvement Project, which includes maintenance work at 20 city-owned parking lots. According to the city, the work ranges from minor repairs such as sidewalk, curb and gutter replacement, to major repairs such as resurfacing and seal coating.
