Railroad Crossing Construction Temporarily Closing Portion of Diehl Road

The Canadian National Railroad will be doing improvements to it's crossing on Diehl Road starting April 30.

Construction on a railroad crossing is expected to close all traffic for a week at Diehl Road and the Canadian National Railroad, according to the city of Naperville.

The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic for about one week so that crews are able to perform maintenance and safety work at the crossing that is located between Eola Road and Route 59, according to the city of Naperville.

Crews will be replacing the crossing surface on Diehl Road, upgrading train switches and installing gates for the Illinois Prairie Path, according tot he city. Detour signs will be posted along Route 59 and North Aurora, Ferry and Eola roads. Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes.

The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic, including vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic starting at 8:30 a.m. April 30. It is anticipated that, weather permitting, the crossing will reopen by 6 p.m. May 6, the city said.
