Naperville Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously gave a positive recommendation to plans for an 88-acre, 238 single-family lot residential development Wednesday.

The proposed Ashwood Pointe development would be located in an area west of 248th Avenue and south of Wolf's Crossing Road in far southwest Naperville.

Home sizes within the development would range from 2,000 to roughly 3,600 square feet.

Preliminary landscaping plans call for a bike path along 248th Avenue, parkway trees as well as a 30-foot-wide buffer consisting of a wood fence, berms and extensive landscaping along 248th Avenue.

Schaumburg-based Pulte Home Corporation presented the development to the commission Wednesday night. The proposal gained praise from commissioners who unanimously voted in favor of it.

“On the whole, I think this is an outstanding project and my commendation to all those who presented it," said Commissioner Robert Williams Wednesday.

The proposed residential development will move on to City Council at a future meeting.
