"The contract amount is under the $500,000 budget for the Phase I project and specifies a start date in early September with substantial completion by the end of 2013," according to the Park District.

The first phase of the work will cleanup "previously unknown lead impacts, restore limited restricted areas to public use," and prepare the park for a second phase of remediation, which is scheduled to begin in 2014 pending approval by the state, according to the Park District.
