Mayor Pradel to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Pradel is Naperville's longest-serving mayor and will mark his 20th year in the office in 2015.

Naperville Mayor A. George Pradel will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce during its Small Business of the Year Awards gala on Friday, May 30. 

This award is presented those individuals who have made signification contributions to the community through their business, service, philanthropy and dedication to making the Naperville area a great place to live.

“I am humbled and honored to be receiving this award,” Mayor A. George Pradel said. “Truly, this award goes to the residents, businesses and community organizations that work together to make Naperville the special place it is. Throughout my time as Mayor, I’ve always believed that it is teamwork that makes this City run so well. I am thankful to the Chamber for this recognition and want to extend it to the entire City.”

Pradel is Naperville’s longest serving Mayor and will mark his 20th year in the office in 2015. 

A resident of Naperville since 1939, Pradel proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959. Prior to his election as Mayor in 1995, he served on the Naperville police force for almost three decades before retiring as a Lieutenant. Pradel will be married to his wife Pat for 54 years as of this August and together they have three children, George, Gary and Carol.

The Small Business of the Year Awards will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. on May 30 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club, 2001 Rodeo Drive, Bolingbrook.
