Letter to the Editor: Judge McKillip Has Stayed Above the Fray

To the Editor

I am the chair of Judge Brian McKillip’s election committee promoting the Judge in his bid for the Circuit Court of DuPage Country.  By law, judicial candidates are quite limited in the scope of issues they are allowed to discuss during campaign cycles. The one consistently appropriate area of discussion relates to the professional experience each candidate would bring to the Circuit Bench if elected. There has been some “discussion” of late by the other two candidates in this race suggesting that the other’s self-described credentials are either overstated or misleading.

For good reason, Judge McKillip has stayed out of the attacks and counter-attacks being leveled by the other two candidates at each other. Let me state clearly and plainly that Judge McKillip is highly rated by the Bar Associations, has over 12 years of experience as a Judge, is well regarded by lawyers and litigants alike, has received the endorsement of the Chicago Tribune for this position and is exactly the kind of Judge we should put on the Circuit Court here in DuPage County. Please remember to vote on March 20, 2012.
