How Much Did the Recent Winter Storm Cost Naperville?

The latest winter storm left behind plenty of snow, ice and also cost the city of Naperville thousands of dollars as road crews worked overtime hours to keep the streets clear and safe, according to the Chicago Tribune. 

The city of Naperville provided the Chicago Tribune with the following statistics regarding the cost of the latest storm: 

  • $90,000 in overtime spent this past weekend following snowfall
  • $40,000 spent on contractors following the latest snowfall
  • $365,000 spent this past winter season for overtime 
  • $240,000 spent this winter season for contractors
  • A total of 30.74 inches of snow has fallen this past season compared to 27.9 inches during all of last winter
  • 500 to 600 tons of road salt was used during the latest storm
  • A total of 10,500 tons of road salt has been used this past winter season
  • A total of 6,000 tons of road salt is left in "the domes" for Naperville
