Got Old Electronics? Naperville Park District Holding Recycling Program

Residents can bring in their old electronics to four locations now through Aug. 23.

If you still have a box of outdated MP3 players, old DVDs and a dusty iPod classic hanging around the house, the Naperville Park District is giving you the chance to recycle them. 

Residents can bring in their old electronics to four locations now through Aug. 23 as part of a summer recycling program offered by the park district and Waste Management. 

The Park District will accept the following small items for recycling: cell phones, tablets, PDA’s, e-readers, print cartridges, DVDs, MP3 players, GPS devices, video games and consoles, digital cameras, iPods and laptops. TVs, DVD players, and other larger electronics are not accepted, according to the park district.

Personal information will be erased by technicians in a secure area and then "examined, cleaned or broken down for component parts," according to the park district. 

Residents can bring items to any of the following Park District locations through Friday, August 23:

Park District Administration Building, 320 W. Jackson Ave. 
(Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. - noon)

Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, 305 W. Jackson Ave. 
(Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 10 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.)

Springbrook Golf Course Clubhouse, 2220 W. 83rd Street 
(Hours: 5:30 a.m. -  8 p.m. daily)

Naperbrook Golf Course Clubhouse, 22204 W. 111th Street, Plainfield 
(Hours: 5:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily)
