Naperville Smart Grid Initiative Winning Logo Design to be Unveiled at January 18 City Council Meeting

Logo Chosen by City Council from 10 Finalist Designs

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Following an exceptional response from the community, Mayor A. George Pradel will announce the winner of the Naperville Smart Grid Initiative Logo Design Contest at the January 18 City Council meeting. All contest entrants are invited to attend the meeting and join in the exciting unveiling of the selected logo.

The 10 finalist logos are now on display in the lobby of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. City Council members selected the winning design from the 10 contest finalists chosen by online voting. More than 2,000 online votes were cast in early December to narrow down the more than 100 logo submissions, including those from Neuqua Valley and Naperville North students. All logos are available to view at www.naperville.il.us/smartgridlogocontest.aspx.

The smart grid initiative is an investment in Naperville’s city-owned utility to modernize the electric grid using the latest digital technology to increase reliability, reduce operating costs, improve efficiency and reduce waste. This forward-thinking project gives residential and business customers more choices about how they use electricity and more control over what they pay for it.
