Naperville Residents Asked to Vote for Their Favorite Smart Grid Initiative Logo Design

The City of Naperville encourages all residents to view and vote for their favorite logo entry that was submitted as part of the Naperville Smart Grid Initiative logo design contest. From now through Wednesday, December 15 at 11:59 p.m., the public can vote for their favorite design at www.naperville.il.us/smartgridlogocontest.aspx.

Through December 1, aspiring artists and designers submitted their visual interpretations of how the smart grid project will empower electric customers to take charge of their energy usage. The smart grid initiative is an investment in Naperville's city-owned utility to modernize the electric grid using the latest digital technology to increase reliability, reduce operating costs, improve efficiency and reduce waste. This forward-thinking project gives residential and business customers more choices about how they use electricity and more control over what they pay for it. More information about the smart grid initiative is available at www.naperville.il.us/smartgrid.aspx.

Residents should visit www.naperville.il.us/smartgridlogocontest.aspx to view images of all the entries. Voters will be asked to remember the number of the entry they prefer and vote by entering that number into a survey field. If you do not have a computer at home, please remember that public computers are available at locations such as the Naperville Public Library.

Mayor A. George Pradel and City Council members will select a winning logo from the 10 logos that receive the most online votes. The winning artist will be personally notified by Mayor Pradel and be publicly recognized at an upcoming City Council meeting. The chosen logo will be showcased throughout the smart grid initiative.
