The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) poses imminent public safety, budgetary, aesthetic and environmental risks to our communities. EAB infestations are now increasing exponentially in many area municipalities, and, without intervention, the majority of our ash trees will die within the next 3-5 years. Unfortunately, there is a great deal of obsolete information and misunderstandings surrounding this topic, and failure to come to terms with the overall implications will become a financial and public relations nightmare for communities that are not up-to-speed on the latest information.
To better understand these implications, we are inviting area City Managers and elected officials including Mayors, Supervisors, Commissioners, Council and Finance Committee chairs to attend the Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation’s EAB Risk Management Workshop on December 8th from 8:30 AM until noon.
At this workshop, specifically designed for officials of area local governments including municipal, county, and township, we will share more information about strategies to help mitigate EAB related risks facing our communities.
