Bridge Sidewalk Near Metra Station to Close Wednesday for Maintenance

Sidewalk over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad to be closed for one day, according to the city.

The Columbia Street bridge sidewalk over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad will be closed to pedestrians for one day this week due to maintenance work.

The sidewalk closure is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15 through 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances, according to the city. The bridge is expected to remain open to traffic.

Due to the project’s close proximity to the Naperville Metra station, commuters who use the bridge to walk to the station are encouraged to plan ahead and adjust their travel times if necessary.
