“I bring with me a wealth of knowledge about budgeting, forecasting, and sound business decision making,” Khouri said in a news release. “With the current economy the way it is, these skills are needed at all levels of government.”

Khouri said pension reform and transparency in government are issues she is concerned about and she supports Senate bill 541 which was passed and allows the board to review budget information, financial information, and employment data of other committees, which she said promotes honest government.

“This was a great step in the right direction,” she said in the release. “Taxpayers deserve to know where their taxes are going and to trust the agencies that are handling their money”.

Khouri and her husband have three children. She is on the executive board of the Naperville Area Republican Women’s Organization.
