4th Avenue, Loomis to Close Temporarily for Storm Sewer Repairs


The following informations comes from a city of Naperville press release. 

The City of Naperville will be performing storm sewer repairs near 4th Avenue and Loomis Street the week of April 1st.

On Tuesday, April 1, Loomis Street is expected to close for one day to all traffic from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad south to North Avenue. A detour will be provided directing motorists to use Washington and Columbia streets.

Beginning Wednesday, April 2, 4th Avenue from Ellsworth Avenue to Loomis Street is expected to close to all through-traffic for one week. Residents will be allowed to use 4th Avenue and access will be maintained to private driveways for the duration of the project.

All work is expected to take place daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., pending weather and unforeseen circumstances.

Due to the close proximity to the Naperville Metra Station, motorists should plan ahead and expect traffic delays in the area. Work near the railroad crossing will not affect the Metra train schedules.
