WATCH: Hit-and-Run Driver Obliterates Naperville Mailbox, Caught on Video

A security camera recorded footage of a white VW Passat destroying a residential mailbox on the Fourth of July, then dragging it away.

Um, happy Fourth of July?

At least one person in Naperville who wasn't celebrating Independence Day by slashing his neighbor with a cutlass instead engaged in a bit of mailbox baseball... using his/her car as the bat.

According to the Naperville Sun, the incident occurred on the west side of Naperville in the Brush Hill neighborhood at around 2:30 p.m. on July 4, and was captured on the homeowner's security camera.

In the 15-second video, the afternoon calm is suddenly disrupted by an out-of-control white VW Passat, which drives through and completely destroys the mailbox, then—calmly—drives away with it stuck under the car.

"This is pretty hilarious, and [yes,] it's for a mailbox, but I'm hoping the power [of] YouTube will help identify the bad driver," the user (and presumptive homeowner,) YeahBuddy1976, writes in the video description.
