Van vs. Van Accident Interrupts Traffic Friday Afternoon

Naperville police were called around 1 p.m. Friday to an accident on the northwest corner of Aurora Avenue and River Road.

There, a black minivan had rear-ended a white conversion van. A text message alert sent through the 's dispatch system shortly before 1 p.m. indicated that one or more of those involved were injured. As of 2 p.m., it was unknown if any were serious.

The vehicles remained in the intersection around 1:20 p.m. and police were directing traffic around the intersection. A fire engine and an ambulance were stopped in an eastbound lane of Aurora Avenue, but no victims were seen being treated shortly after 1 p.m.
