Two in Critical Following Aurora Motel Fire

Two people were critically injured in a fire in Aurora.

Two people were in critical condition after a fire at a motel in Aurora in the 1000 block of East Benton Street, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The fire was reported at about 7:30 p.m. Friday. Firefighters found two people during a search of the building and they were airlifted to an area hospital, the newspaper reported.

The Daily Herald reported that a wall heater in a first floor room was the apparent cause of the fire. The newspaper reported that firefighters were able to contain the fire to the room in which it began.
