Syringes, Spoon Wind Up Under Tree

Naperville police recover what they confirm to be drug paraphernalia early Tuesday morning.

Police said they found syringes, a spoon and a bloody piece of gauze under a tree in Tuesday morning.

"We did recover the paraphernalia and confiscate it," Sgt. Gregg Bell said. "Officer have determined it was from a heroin user. It was left there and nobody was around when it was reported."

A resident called police around 9:15 a.m. after stumbling upon the items on a grassy area near the intersection of Naper Boulevard and Rockbridge Drive, according to the police report. The spoon had residue on it and small plastic bags were also found.
