Salon Denies Wax Job Injured Patron

An alleged botched "Brazilian" case returns to court in June.

A Naperville-based lawsuit over an alleged botched Brazilian wax job could get a bit more delicate.

In court filings, Simply Hair Salon & Renewal Spa, located on Ogden Avenue, denies claims by a Naperville woman who said the "improperly performed" procedure in January 2009 caused her pain, suffering and "disfigurement."

Simply Hair generally refutes the woman's allegations, but specifically "denies that the injuries allegedly sustained by the plaintiff were a result of a Brazilian wax," court records show.

The salon has requested a jury to hear the case, which was in court this week for a brief status hearing, and was told by a judge to prepare its written evidence discovery by a June hearing.

The five-page suit brought by Tisleen Singh accuses the business of negligence during the visit where an employee improperly used the wax during treatment, as well as using "too much force in removing the wax," the lawsuit states.
