Reward Offered for Information On Torched Turf

Someone set portions of the football field at North Central College ablaze over the weekend and police seek leads.

Artificial turf at was damaged when someone set small portions of end zone letters on fire. Now, Naperville Crimestoppers is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest.

Between 11 and 11:28 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, someone started a few sections of the football field's turf on fire, possibly using a flare, the said in a news release. The incident was reported in Tuesday’s .

officials said the damage was in excess of $1,000. The college was able to use some scrap materials that were left from installation to fix the damage.
