Reward Offered for Information in Armed Robbery

A masked man robbed the 7-Eleven on South Washington Street early Wednesday morning.

 are searching for a man who held up a on South Washington Street early Wednesday morning. The man fled on foot with an undisclosed sum of money.

And, Naperville Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

When the man entered the store at 1925 S. Washington Street he displayed a black semiautomatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk, according to a news release from the .

A holdup alarm was activated at about 1:38 a.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived, they learned the man had taken an undisclosed sum of cash. Officers immediately began searching for the man but were unsuccessful, according to the release.

The man was described as about 5 feet 9 inches, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, mask, dark jeans, black gym shoes and light-colored gloves, police said. He fled on foot.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 1-630-420-6006. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the crime. Callers may remain anonymous.
