Retail Theft, World War II Explosive Found in Home: Naperville Police Blotter

Retail theft

Steven Kelly Wilson, 19, of Joliet, was arrested at 6:04 p.m. in the 700 block of South Route 59, police said. He was charged with retail theft. He posted bond. 

Resisting a peace officer

Jin Geng Zhu, 49, of Elgin, was arrested at 9:03 p.m. near Book Road and Leverenz Road, police said. He was charged with resisting a peace officer. He posted bond. 

Mountain bike stolen

An orange, mens Mongoose mountain bike was stolen out of a garage in the 1600 block of Ada Lane, police said. 

Vehicle entered

A locked vehicle was entered overnight in the 1000 block of Fairway Drive, police said. 

Explosive removed from home

An explosive device believed to be from World War II was found in the attic of a home in the 400 block of South Wright Street, police said. The DuPage County Bomb Squad came to the home and removed the device. 

Stolen wallet

A wallet was stolen from a patient at Edward Hospital in the 800 block of South Washington Street, police said. 

Ribfest rascal

Someone tried to enter Ribfest with controlled substances, marijuana and a illegal spring-loaded knife, police said.
