Raymond Drive Accident Holds up Traffic

A minor crash on Raymond Drive Wednesday forced drivers to take a detour.

A one-car accident in the 600 block of Raymond Drive near West Ogden Avenue in Naperville held up traffic Wednesday afternoon, after a driver went off the roadway just beyond a traffic light there.

Northbound lanes were blocked off around 1:10 p.m. on the street and drivers were forced to detour on River Road to get to Raymond. A fire engine, ambulance and police squad cars were parked in the area with their lights flashing.

The driver's white, four-door car had come to rest on a patch of grass on the east side of the roadway near Wheaton Eye Clinic, 604 Raymond Drive. He or she was complaining of neck and back pain, according to a text message alert sent through the 's dispatch system.

Police Sgt. Gregg Bell did not have additional information about the crash around 2:50 p.m., but said he didn't think the accident or potential injuries were serious.
