Police Track Theft Suspect's Footprints After Craigslist Exchange Gone Awry

Naperville Police arrest 20-year-old Bolingbrook man.

A Bolingbrook man was arrested in Naperville on Sunday after a Craigslist exchange gone wrong, police said.

James C. McCord, 20, of the 100 block of Pamela Drive in Bolingbrook, was taken into custody around 3:30 p.m. by Naperville Police, they said.

McCord met with a 25-year-old woman at a local intersection to buy an iPad from her after they had arranged the hand-off on Craigslist, police said.

"McCord ripped the iPad from the victim's hand and ran to his mother's house on Whispering Hills Court," according to the report.

Police tracked him to the 1200 block of Whispering Hills Court by following his footprints in the snow, they said. When asked, McCord confessed to stealing the iPad, according to the report. He was was charged with theft.
