Police Seek Help Identifying Home Invasion Suspects

Naperville police release two sketches of suspects they believe were involved in the Sept. 7 incident.

Naperville police are trying to identify two suspects they believe are connected to a daytime armed home invasion last week in the 1100 block of Greensfield Drive.

The incident occurred Sept. 7 around 3:40 p.m., when four armed men broke into a home on Greensfield Drive and robbed three residents at gunpoint, police said. Police released sketches of two of the four men shortly before noon today.

"These sketches were made after one of the victims met with the police and was able to describe the suspects," Naperville Police Cmdr. Mike Anders said.

The first suspect is described as a black man with lighter skin and short, cropped black hair. He was described as being about 5-foot-6 and weighing about 150 pounds.

The second suspect is a Hispanic man of about the same height and weight as the first suspect. He was described as having curly black hair, a thin mustache and a slight goatee.

The victims of the home invasion told police last week that three black men and one Hispanic man entered their home Sept. 7 through an unlocked front door. The men were armed with handguns and one "long gun," according to the report.

"It was hard for them because it was kind of frantic," Naperville Police Sgt. Brian Cunningham said of the victims. "They couldn't ascertain who had what guns. … One described the long gun as more of a shotgun, one described it as more of a rifle."

The intruders confronted the residents, demanding money, said Cunningham, who described the midday break-in as "a little unusual."

The four men reportedly fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
They were seen leaving in two vehicles: One was a newer model, four-door compact car — possibly a Chevrolet — and the other was a blue, four-door car of an unidentified make and model, the report said.

Anyone with information about the home invasion or suspects who resemble the sketches is asked to call the Naperville Police Department at 630-420-6666 or Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the incident.
