Police Search for Pellet Gun Perpetrators

Naperville police are offering a reward for information leading to arrests in cases involving criminal damage to local property.

Naperville police are still looking for those who damaged windows at several local businesses back in April.

Someone recently used a pellet gun to shoot the windows of vehicles parked at car dealerships, on random streets and in parking garages throughout Naperville, police said this week.

The first incident occurred between 5 p.m. April 9 and 7 a.m. April 11 at The Bill Jacobs BMW/Mini Dealership, 2495 Aurora Ave.

During the same time frame, a $300 window was damaged at Discount Tire, 535 Fort Hill Drive. Also, the driver's side window of a Nissan Sentra parked in the first block of West Van Buren Avenue was reportedly shot out, causing about $500 in damage.

Police said the latest incident occurred April 23 between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., when someone damaged a window on the south side of the parking deck at 75 E. Chicago Ave.
The combined loss from the pellet gun shootings totals nearly $7,000, police said.

The cases remained under investigation Wednesday by the Naperville Police Department. Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call the department at 630-420-6666 or Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006.

Callers to Crime Stoppers can opt to remain anonymous. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest in the shootings.
