Police: Naperville Man Charged With Sexually Exploiting Girls at Dairy Queen

Steven Andy Wu, 28, of Naperville, was charged with sexual exploitation of a child after police said he was found masturbating inside of his pants outside of an ice cream parlor window.

A 28-year-old Naperville man was charged with sexually exploiting four teenage girls after masturbating outside a window of a Dairy Queen, said.

Steven Andy Wu, of the 1700 block of Penn Court, was arrested at 5:22 p.m. Wednesday near Naper Boulevard and Abbeywood Drive and charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of a child, Naperville Police Sgt. Gregg Bell said.

Police received a call from a teenage girl regarding a suspicious individual at 9:04 p.m. July 7. According to police, Wu was staring at the caller and three other teenage girls from a window ledge outside of an ice cream parlor in the 1800 block of Wehrli Road while they were inside.

When one of the girls left to go to a store next to the ice cream parlor, she noticed Wu appeared to be masturbating inside of his pants, police said.

“He never exposed himself, but the impression was that he was masturbating inside of his pants,” Bell said.

At that time, the group of four girls decided to walk back to their home. While they were walking, they noticed Wu driving by them multiple times in his car.

“They noticed the subject was in the vehicle and drove by about three or four times and was possibly following them,” Bell said.

One of the girls then called the police on her cell phone and an officer drove out to the area but couldn't find Wu.

Then on July 11, an officer was in the 1600 block of Lisson Road close to where the incident occurred and saw Wu driving the vehicle that matched the description given. Naperville police then arrested Wu, Bell said.

Wu posted $150 bond, 10 percent of the $1,500 bail, for a Class A Misdemeanor and has a preliminary court date at 9 a.m. Aug. 14, police said.
