Police: Man Traveled to Meet Minor in Naperville

A Chicago man has been charged with traveling to meet a minor for sex, police said.

A Chicago man has been charged with traveling to Naperville to meet a minor for sex, police said.

After several weeks of investigation, Carlos Lopez, 38, of Chicago, was arrested Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Ogden 6 Theaters, 1227 East Ogden Ave., after allegedly planning to meet a minor for sex, police said. 

Police began the investigation after Lopez allegedly met with the minor earlier and engaged in sexual intercourse in a motel in Schiller Park, police said.

Police believe Lopez allegedly met the minor using the social media application Wap Log and KIK. 

Lopez was transported to the Naperville Police Department and then transferred to the Schiller Park Police Department where he was charged with one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, indecent solicitation of a minor and traveling to meet a minor, according to police.
