Police Charge Man in Edward Hospital Burglary

Tyrese K. Watson, 27, of the 5900 block of South Throop in Chicago, allegedly stole credit cards and other items from hospital patients and employees.

A Chicago man has been arrested in connection with stealing credit cards and other items from patients and employees at Edward Hospital on Thursday. 

Around 4:18 p.m. on Nov. 29, Tyrese K. Watson, 27, of the 5900 block of South Throop in Chicago, allegedly stole credit cards from hospital patients and employees then fled in a maroon 1998 Ford Explorer to a Naperville gas station near Washington and Gartner, according to a Naperville Police Department release.

Police said Watson then allegedly used the stolen credit cards to buy gas and cigarettes from the gas station before leaving Naperville.

After an investigation by the Naperville Police Department, detectives observed Watson using the stolen credit cards to purchase gift cards at a business in the 7300 block of South Cicero Avenue in Bedford Park, the release said.

With the assistance from the Bedford Park Police Department, Watson was apprehended. Stolen proceeds from the burglary were located in the suspect’s vehicle, according to a release.

Watson was transported to the Naperville Police Department and charged with Burglary, with additional charges forthcoming.

He was later transported to the DuPage County Jail to await a bond hearing, according to a release.
