Police Blotter: Walking Under the Influence, Price Changing and Stolen Change

Naperville Police Department reports, Sept. 30-Oct. 2

Friday, Sept. 30 

Burglary

Zachary Terrell, 17, of the 4000 block of Marble Court, Aurora, was arrested at 4:10 a.m. in the 1500 block of Westminster Drive and Brookdale Road, where police said he was charged with two counts of burglary from a vehicle by force and two counts of consumption of liquor by a minor. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Suspended license

Yessica Salmeron, 22, of the 300 block of Center Avenue, Aurora, was arrested at 4:03 p.m. at Argyll Lane and North Route 59, where police said she was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license. Her bail was $1,500. 

Warrant arrest

  • Christopher Paul Tarman, 29, of the 100 block of Robert Court, Bartlett, was arrested at 12:49 a.m. at North Route 59 and West Jefferson Avenue, police said. He was charged on a failure to appear warrant. His bail was $2,500.
  • Daniel Zuniga, 39, of the 1700 block of North Keeler Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at 2:06 p.m. in the 3200 block of 95th Street and Deering Bay Drive, police said. He was charged on a failure to appear warrant from Hoffman Estates and for driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $5,150.

Possession of a controlled substance

Andre Roy Devera, 24, of the 1800 block of Gigi Lane, Darien, was arrested at 12:09 a.m. in the first block of West Chicago Avenue, police said. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Driving under the influence

  • Jason Anthony Brown, 18, of the 600 block of Morningside Drive, was arrested at 1:41 a.m. in the 700 block of Inland Circle and Fairway Drive, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of cannabis, driving without a license and without lights. An unknown caller reported that Brown was driving without lights on, police said. His bail was $3,000.
  • Katherine Ruth Myers, 23, of the 2000 block of Bunker Circle, was arrested at 1:03 a.m. in the 400 block of Aurora Avenue, where police said she was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving too fast/failing to reduce speed, squealing/screeching tires and interfering with an officer. Her bond was $100.

Vehicle burglary

  • A 43-year-old man in the 1800 block of Brookdale Road reported that at 4:25 a.m. he heard noise and scared someone away who had used a landscape brick to break out a window in a vehicle, police said. Nothing was taken.
  • A 41-year-old man in the 1800 block of Brookdale Road reported that a landscape brick was used to break out a window in a vehicle but nothing was taken, police said.
  • Police said a 58-year-old man in the 1800 block of Brookdale Road reported that a landscape brick was used to smash out a window of a vehicle, but nothing was taken. 

Theft

A 14-year-old boy reported that he left his skateboard in the foyer of a restaurant in the 500 block of South Washington Street and 15 minutes later, it was missing. 

Criminal trespass

A 44-year-old man in the 900 block of East Ogden Avenue reported that at 8:38 p.m. he came out to find a man sitting in his car with the driver’s door open, police said. When confronted, the man ran away.

Saturday, Oct. 1 

Driving on a suspended/revoked license

Flores Porfinio Rivera, 36, of the 300 block of Eastern Avenue, Aurora, was arrested at 11:23 p.m. at Weston Ridge Drive and North Aurora Road where police said he was charged with improper lane use and driving on a suspended/revoked license.  He had previous arrests for driving without a license, which gave him a suspended status, police said. His bail was $1,500.

Driving under the influence

  • Sarita Garcia, 22, of the 2200 block of Glenwood Avenue, Joliet, was arrested at 2:33 a.m. at Royce Road and S. Washington Street where police said she was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use. Her bail was $3,000.
  • Leann Marie Turrentine, 45, of the 24000 block of Champion Drive, was arrested at 1:35 a.m. at Fort Hill Drive and Aurora Avenue, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, following too close and improper lane use. Her bail was $3,000.

Walking under the influence

Kevin Robert Camp, 26, of the 300 block of North Loomis Street, was arrested at 2:02 a.m. in the first block of West Chicago Avenue where police said he was charged with interfering with an officer and pedestrian under the influence. He was intoxicated and in the roadway, police said. He also resisted arrest and attempted to charge back into the street. His bond was $120.

Warrant arrest

  • Markist Yourell Adams, 31, of the first block of S343 Scots Drive, was arrested at 10:53 p.m. at his home where police said he was charged on an original warrant for theft. His bail was $10,000 and he was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Jose Julio Baez Dieppa, 39, of the 2500 block of Warm Springs Lane, was arrested at 4:07 p.m. at the , 1350 Aurora Avenue, where he was charged on an original warrant for battery with the intent to do bodily harm, police said. His bail was $20,000.

Fighting

  • Chadwick Allen Williams, 23, of the 600 block of Robinwood Court, Wheaton, was arrested at 2:19 a.m. in the 20 block of East Chicago Avenue where he was charged with fighting, police said. His bond was $120.
  • Donald J. Marquez, 23, of the 1900 block of Beller Road, Woodridge, was arrested at 2:31 a.m. in the 20 block of East Chicago Avenue, where he was charged with fighting, police said. His bond was $120.

Vehicle burglary

  • A 23-year-old man in the 1000 block of Fairway Drive reported that a battery was stolen from a vehicle between 5 p.m. Friday and 1:25 p.m. Saturday. Police said entry was made through the back door and then the hood was opened.
  • A 43-year-old man in the 3200 block of Mistflower Lane reported that four suspects entered an unlocked vehicle and stole $3 in change, police said. 

Suspicious incident

A 71-year-old man reported that he believed someone, possibly a neighbor, entered his apartment and stole his backpack and laptop, police said.

Theft

A 55-year-old woman in the 200 block of South Route 59 reported that credit cards were removed from her purse while she was shopping, according to police.

Sunday, Oct. 2

Driving under the influence

  • Alyssa Janece Anaya, 21, of the 6500 block of Winston Drive, Woodridge, was arrested at 2:44 a.m. at Swallow Street and West Bailey Road, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use. Her bail was $3,000.
  • Cory Benjamin Froeber, 26, of the 200 block of Ridge Road, was arrested at 2:15 a.m. at Meadow Ridge Drive and Ridge Road, where police said he was charged on two count of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a rear license plate light and without a front/rear registration permit. His bail was $3,000. 

Possession

  • Casey James White, 19, of the 400 block of Yolane Drive, Sugar Grove, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. in the 400 block of South Brainard Street, police said. He was charged with possession of cannabis. His bond was $120.
  • Alexandra Cynthia Todd, 19, of the 2200 block of Glouceston Lane, was arrested at 11:41 p.m. in the 800 block of South Washington Street, police said. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was taken to the Will County Jail.

Retail theft

Tong Zheng, 40, of the 1300 block of Hollytowne Court, was arrested at 6:29 p.m. at Goodwill Industries, 539 Fort Hill Drive, where police said she was charged with retail theft. Zheng changed the price tag on a stroller and then purchased the item using a gift card, police said. Her bond was $120.

Battery

Lucas Paul Swartz, 31, of the 70 block of Townsend Circle, was arrested at 4:18 p.m. at his home where he was charged with battery, police said. His bail was $1,500.

Suspended license

Michael Edward Mulcrone, 48, of the 2800 block of Rutland Circle, was arrested at 7:10 p.m. at South Route 59 and Rollingridge Road, where police said he was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $1,500.

Vehicle burglary

A 55-year-old woman in the 600 block of Staunton Road reported that between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday two vehicle had windows broken and were entered, police said. Purses were taken in both incidents.

Criminal damage

A 17-year-old girl in the 2400 block of Thaxton Court reported that between 8 p.m. Saturday and 7:40 a.m. Sunday a Mazda SUV parked on the street had a passenger side window smashed by an unknown means, police said. Nothing was taken. 

Right of way violation

A 16-year-old was cited after colliding with a cyclist in the crosswalk at Hobson Road and Washington Street at about 2:50 p.m., police said. There were no injuries.

Accident involving pedestrian

A 20-year-old woman reported being struck while she was running near Aurora Avenue and South West Street at about 5:55 p.m., police said. She was uninjured.
