Police Blotter: Walking Under the Influence; Creepy Note; Missing Concrete Zebra

Friday, March 18

Pedestrian under the influence

Jared M. Nowak, 30, of the 300 block of Sunrise Avenue in Willowbrook was arrested about 12:19 a.m. in the 600 block of N. Route 59, police said. According to police, Nowak was intoxicated and was provided with a taxi but didn’t take it home.

He was later discovered staggering and warned about walking in the roadway. A few minutes later he was discovered staggering in traffic and was arrested, police said. His bail was set at $120.

Cherish Marie Davis, 33, of 5800 block of Main Street in Downers Grove, was arrested at about 1:19 a.m. in the 1300 block of East Ogden Avenue and Tuthill Road, police said. Davis was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and failure to give a signal.

Christopher E. Talbot, 27, of the 6400 block of New Albany Road, Lisle, was arrested at about 1:38 a.m. in the 500 block of Fairway Drive and North Aurora Road, according to police reports. Talbot was arrested on two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, manifestation of cannabis less than 2.5 grams, speeding over the limit and operating an uninsured vehicle. His bond was set at $3,000.

Richard A. Wright, 28, of the 1600 block of Mulligan Drive in Naperville, was arrested at 1:44 a.m. and charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol in the 500 block of Fairway Drive and North Aurora Road, according to police. His bond was set at $3,000.

Arun Agusti Ponnezhan, 29, of the 600 block of South Wells Street, Chicago, was attested at 1:49 a.m. at the intersection of Iroquois and Ogden Avenues on two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding, according to police. His bond was set at $3,000.

Solomon Eli Brown, 30, of the 800 block of Benedetti Drive, Naperville, was arrested at 2:16 a.m. at the intersection of Webster Street and Spring Avenue, according to police. Brown was arrested and charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to use a signal, speeding, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving without a license. His bond was set at $3,000.

Camaron Shau Johnson, 22, of the 1300 block of Indian Trail Road, Aurora, was arrested at 4:39 a.m. in the 1900 block of North Aurora Road, according to police. He was charged with reckless driving, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. His bond was set at $2,000

Jason Michael Powers, 29, of 1300 Bonnema Ave., Naperville was arrested at 4:36 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 75th Street and charged with two counts of driving under the influence, police said. His bond was set at $3,000.

Missing pipe

Someone reported on Friday that copper pipe was stolen from a vacant house in the 2800 block of Wheatland Court sometime between March 4 and March 18, according to police. The pipe was thought to be valued at $100.

Missing zebra

A resident in the 2000 block of Maplewood Circle reported to police that a 2-foot-5-inch by 2-foot-5-inch concrete zebra in a kneeling position was stolen from the front porch of the home sometime between 6:30 a.m. on Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday.

Stolen appliances and a bathroom vanity

Someone reported at 2:32 p.m. that kitchen appliances and a bathroom vanity were stolen from a home in foreclosure in the 4600 block of Sassafras Lane, according to police reports.

Strong-arm robbery of an iPhone

An 18-year-old man reported at 6 p.m. the strong-arm robbery of an iPhone in the rear parking lot at 22 E. Chicago Avenue in downtown Naperville, according to police. The man who allegedly stole the phone was last seen wearing blue jeans and an orange sweatshirt.

Missing phone

A 14-year-old girl reported at 6:01 p.m. that her pink Samsung Moment Android cell phone was taken from a gymnastics club in the 1700 block of Quincy Avenue sometime between 4:15 and 5 p.m., according to police.

Brick goes through window

A 37-year-old man reported at 10:15 p.m. that someone threw a landscaping brick through a window in the 2700 block of Cedar Glade Drive, according to police.

Saturday, March 19

Battery with a bat over dog poop

A 27-year-old man reported at 1:50 p.m. that a man battered him with a baseball bat after a confrontation with the man in a parking lot of an apartment complex in the 400 block of East Bailey Road, according to police reports. The argument began after the batterer told the victim’s 8-year-old nephew to pick-up dog feces and the victim did not like the tone the man used with the boy, police said.

Creepy love note

A 49-year-old woman in the 900 block of East Chicago Avenue reported finding a note in her nightstand drawer from an unknown person named Steve professing his love to her, according to a police report. The note was left between sometime between 4:30 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday. Police found no sign of unlawful entry.

Warrant arrests

Anthony Deshonn Wims, 24, of the 1500 block of Dempster in Mount Prospect, was arrested at 12:12 a.m. in the 100 block of East Chicago Avenue on five failure to appear warrants, according to police. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail.

Antonio Bernard Peoples, 24, of the 3300 block of North 26th Street, Milwaukee, was arrested at 12:12 a.m. in the 100 block of East Chicago Avenue for possession of marijuana and for failure to appear on a warrant, according to police. His bond was set at $120.

Driving under the influence

Rodney Demond Steele, 35, of the 500 block of Easy Street, Glendale Heights, was arrested at 12:48 a.m. in the 500 block of Fairway Drive on two charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to police. His bond was set at $3,000.

Robert Thomas Rubinelli, 59, of the first block of Bell Oak Lane, Lemont, was arrested at 1:25 a.m. at the intersection of West Ogden Avenue and Feldott Lane, according to police. Rubinelli was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal lane usage and making an improper turn at an intersection, according to police. Bond set at $3,000.

Terrell Compton Cole, 34, 3900 Blackstone Drive, Aurora, was arrested at 2:25 a.m. at the intersection of South Route 59 and Ogden Avenue for driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and speeding, according to police.

David Scott Cummins, 23, of the 1600 block of Brookdale Road, Naperville, was arrested at 2:23 a.m. at the intersection of North Ellsworth Street and Ogden Avenue. According to police he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. His bond was set at $3,000.

Joshua Nathan Johnson, 35, of the first block of Dogwood Court, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 2:18 a.m. at the intersection of East Chicago Avenue and Loomis Street, according to police. He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and making an improper turn at an intersection. His bond was set at $3,000.

Andrew N. Colello 19, of the 3100 block of Wild Meadows, Aurora, was arrested at 2:31 a.m. at South Route 59 and Cantore Road. He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and disobeying a stop sign, according to police reports. His bond was set at $3,000.

Jennifer Castellanos, 22, of the 2700 block of West 22nd Place, Chicago, was arrested at 2:44 a.m. in the 2800 block of Aurora Avenue and Route 59. She was arrested and charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, not wearing a seat belt, operating an uninsured vehicle and improper lane use. He bond was set at $3,000.

Hitesh D. Patel, 50 of the 2400 block of Spring Valley Court, Aurora, was arrested at 10:38 a.m. in the 3000 block of 111th Street and South Route 59, according to police. He was arrested on two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. His bond was set at $100.

Interfering with an officer

Kathryn Elizabeth Sampson-Tyrell, 51, of the 3000 block of White Eagle Drive, Naperville, was arrested at 1:53 p.m. at the intersection of West Ogden Avenue and Feldott Lane for interfering with an officer, according to police. Her bond was set at $120.

Consumption of alcohol by a minor

John Thomas Meachum, 19, of the 100 block of Columbia Street, Naperville, was arrested at 1:33 a.m. at the intersection of North Washington and Spring Streets, according to police. He was arrested and charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, consumption of liquor by a minor and operating an uninsured vehicle. His bond was set at $3,000.

Driving under the influence of drugs

Lauren Ann Hansen, 29, of the 21W700 block of Crest Drive, Glen Ellyn, was arrested at 2:32 p.m. at the intersection of Naperville and East Warrenville Roads, according to police. Hansen was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, failure to notify authorities of a damaged and unattended vehicle, failure to reduce speed and driving too fast for conditions. Her bond was set at $3,000.

Sunday, March 20

Underage drinking and driving under the influence

Joseph Tyler Zilligen, 18, of the 500 block of Seville Avenue, Naperville, was arrested at 12:07 a.m. at Reflection Drive and 95thStreet, according to police. Zilligen was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal consumption by a minor, speeding over the limit and illegal lane usage. His bond was set at $3,000.

Driving under the influence

Michael Jason Shoulders, 38, of the 1100 block of Stillwater Road, Elgin, was arrested at 12:12 a.m. at the intersection of West 87th Street and South Route 59 and charged with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. His bond was set at $3,000.

Sean Michael Russell, 30, of the 300 block of Huntington Way, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 12:51 a.m. at West Ogden Avenue and Fort Hill Drive, according to police. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. His bond was set at $3,000.

Bradley Kelvin Hudetz, 27, of the 24000 block of West Pinecone, Plainfield, was arrested at 1:41 a.m. at 95th Street and South Route 59, according to police. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. His bond was set at $3,000.

Jennifer Rae Hopwood, 33, 100 block of Golfview Drive, Glendale Heights, was arrested at 2 a.m. at the intersection of Naperville/Wheaton Road and East Ogden Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, following too close and operating an uninsured vehicle, police said. Her bond was set at $3,000

Zachary M. Rantissi, 20, of the 2700 block of Flagstone Circle, Naperville, was arrested at 5:50 a.m. at South Naper Boulevard and Dunrobin Road, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. His bond was set at $3,000.

Brad S. Blakely-Willard, 27, of the 200 block of Honeysuckle Lane, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 1:26 p.m. at the intersection of Weber and Boughton Roads in Bolingbrook, according to police. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to notify authorities of a damaged/unattended vehicle, illegal lane usage and operating and uninsured vehicle. His bond was set at $3,000.

Fighting

Neil Robert Evans, 23, of the 800 block of Dorset Drive, Wheaton, was arrested at 12:43 a.m. at Blackfinn American Saloon, 16 W. Jefferson Avenue, and charged with fighting. His bond was set at $120.

Battery

Thomas Jon Lincoln, 23, of the 700 block of Appaloosa Trail, Wauconda, was arrested at 12:53 a.m. at Blackfinn American Saloon, 16 W. Jefferson Avenue and charged with one count of battery and one count of battery with the intent to do bodily harm, according to police. His bond was set at $1,500.

Lisa M. Korotka, 22, of the 100 block of Kent Avenue, Wauconda, was arrested at 12:54 a.m. at , 16 W. Jefferson Avenue and charged with resisting a peace officer, battery and battery with intent to do bodily harm, according to police reports. Her bond was set at $1,500

GPS, purse stolen from vehicle

A 52-year-old man reported at 6:52 p.m. that a vehicle that was parked in a lot in the 3400 block of Odyssey Court had been burglarized. The theft occurred between 4:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. The man said someone smashed the front passenger side window and took items inside including a GPS, purse, Leapfrog/Leapster game system and games.
