Woman runs stop sign, charged with driving under the influence

Melissa J. Jandt, 40, of the 1900 block of Town Drive in , was arrested around 4 a.m. near the intersection of West 87th Street and Cedarbrook Road, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of disobeying a stop sign. Her bail was set at $3,000.

Hotel room lingerer

Police said Mark A. Montenegro, 37, of the 4500 block of Black Partridge Lane in Lisle, was arrested around 2 a.m. at a hotel in the 1500 block of Naperville Wheaton Road. He was charged with criminal trespassing after police said staff at the hotel discovered him in a room there. He has been told several times by staff that he is not allowed on the premises, according to the report.

Illegally driving, caught with pot

Colton A. Tomney. 20, of the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested around 10:10 p.m. near the intersection of South Route 59 and Ogden Avenue, according to police reports. Police said he was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was set at $1,500.

Warrant arrest

Raymundo Navor-Salsa, 25, of the 700 block of Superior Street in Aurora, was arrested around 11 p.m., police said, in the 3000 block of English Rows Avenue. He was arrested on an unspecified warrant and his bail was set at $300.

Luis A. Rojas, 19, of the 1100 block of South Whispering Hills Drive in , was arrested around 7:30 p.m. at his home on a failure-to-appear warrant out of DuPage County, police said. His bail was set at $2,500.

Vanishing valium

A 51-year-old, who was stating at a hotel in the 1500 block of Naperville Wheaton Road in , reported that a prescription bottle containing 100 Valium pills along with about $35 was missing from his room. He said he believed the items were stolen between 1:30 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Break-away fire hydrant

Police said that a front-end loader was removing snow in the 300 block of Big Rail Drive in when the driver pushed snow over a fire hydrant which eventually broke away at its base.

Estranged wife allegedly slashes tires

Police said a 51-year-old man, of the 2900 block of White Thorn Circle in , reported that both the front and rear passenger-side tires of his car had been slashed. He also said the door of the car had been  "scratched by an unknown sharp object," according to the report. The man said he believed the vandalism occurred between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday and the likely culprit was his estranged wife who is bipolar and getting accustomed to new medicine.
