Police Blotter: Vanishing Vacuum Cleaner; Battery Bandits

Naperville police reports, April 14.

Obstructing identification

Irlen Nevarez, 23, of the 300 block of Pine Avenue in Aurora, was arrested around 10:15 p.m. near the intersection of Diehl and Eola roads. Police said she was charged with obstructing identification and her bail was set at $1,500.

Jose A. Nunez-Nevarez, 26, of the 700 block of Inland Circle in , was arrested around 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of Diehl and Eola roads, police said. He was charged with obstructing identification and two counts of driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was set at $1,500.

Warrant arrest

Police said Arthur Jovon Lemone Reeves, 22, of the 700 block of West Liberty Drive in Wheaton, was arrested around 9 p.m. in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue on a failure-to-appear warrant out of DuPage County. His bail was set at $5,000.

Sami L. Greco, 39, of the 2500 block of Beau Bien Court in Lisle, was arrested around 7 p.m. in the 200 block of North Huffman Street on a failure-to-appear warrant out of DuPage County. Her bail was set at $3,000, police said.

Clay C. Fosse, 22, of the 4300 block of Marquette Street in Albuquerque, N.M., was arrested around 2 p.m. in the first block of East Chicago Avenue on a failure-to-appear warrant out of DuPage County, police said. His bail was set at $5,000.

Police said Brandon J. Fogg, 23, of the 1900 block of Chase Lane in Aurora, was arrested around 11:50 a.m. in the 1900 block of West Jefferson Avenue on a failure-to-appear warrant out of DuPage County. He was pulled over after police saw him throw a Portillo's cup out of his car window, according to the report. His bail was set at $5,000.

Battery bandits

Police said 60 car batteries of various brands were reported stolen from Sam's Club, 808 S. Route 59 in . They believe the theft occurred between 3 a.m. and 3:25 a.m.

Criminal trespassing

Nicholas Nakos, 46, of the 400 block of Valley Drive in , was arrested around 12:30 p.m. at Jewel-Osco, 1759 W. Ogden Ave. Police said he had been told to not return to Jewel because he had been stealing alcohol from the store. He returned Thursday and stole "another bottle of vodka," according to the police report. He was charged with retail theft and criminal trespassing. "Nakos was told again not to return to the Jewel and was told to stop stealing things," stated the report. His bail was set at $1,500.

Vanishing vacuum cleaner

Police said someone reported that a spare vacuum cleaner was missing from Indian Prairie School District 204. The theft was discovered during a routine inventory and the person who made the report said he or she believed the machine was taken some time during the past school year.

Pried apart locks

Police said a 48-year-old man, whose vehicle was parked at the Hampton Inn and Suites, 1087 East Diehl Road in Naperville, reported that between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 8:15 a.m. Thursday, someone tried to break into his burgundy Chevrolet truck. He said the truck was locked in the parking lot of the hotel and that someone had pried apart the locks on the driver's and passenger-side doors.

Snatched radar detector

A 37-year-old man, whose vehicle was parked in the 1700 block of Chalmette Court in Naperville, reported that someone entered his locked vehicle and stole his radar detector. He said he believed the thief broke in between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday.
