Police Blotter: Theft, Stolen iPod and Disorderly Conduct

Theft

Police said Cindy Lynn Welch, 52, of the 600 block of South River Street in Aurora, was arrested at 7:24 p.m. at Sam’s Club, 808 S. Route 59, and charged with theft. While working in the café, she was voiding customer transactions on the register and pocketing the cash for a total amount of $440.28, according to the police reports. Her bail was $1,500.

Driving under the influence

Police said Robert Gerard Keistler, 52, of the 900 block of Oakleaf Circle, was arrested at 8:38 p.m. in the 800 block of East Chicago Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of drugs. His bail was $3,000.

Possession

Jesse-Leigh Sara Hoedemaker, 18, of the 1600 block of Mulligan Drive, was arrested at 11:34 p.m. in the 1200 block of Redfield Road, police said. She was charged with criminal trespass to land, possession of marijuana and possession of liquor by a minor. Her bond was $120.

Warrant arrest

  • Patricia M. Tatara, 65, of the 20 block of W020 Wisconsin Street, was arrested at 6:23 p.m. at Hobson Road and South Washington Street on a failure to appear warrant, police said. Her bail was $5,000.
  • Arthur Reese Vogt, 18, of the 700 block of Royal Saint George Drive, was arrested at 6:01 p.m. in the 400 block of South Main Street and charged on two failure to appear warrants from DuPage County, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Disorderly conduct

  • A 28-year-old man in the 1200 block of Whispering Hills Court reported that at 12:19 a.m. an intoxicated friend showed up at his home looking for a fight, police said. The man was taken to a different friend’s house.
  • A 43-year-old man in the 800 block of Burning Tree Lane reported that his house was egged overnight on Aug. 10.

Suspicious incident

  • A 38-year-old woman in the 3700 block of Caine Drive reported at 5:22 a.m. that she believed someone was on the rear deck of the home trying to open the back door, police said.
  • A 50-year-old woman in the 3500 block of Fairmont Avenue reported that between noon Aug. 8 and 11 a.m. Aug. 11 a screen had been pried away from a window frame, police said. Police found another rear window screen with similar pry marks.

Criminal trespass

A 40-year-old woman in the 3600 block of Eliot Lane reported that an unlocked Honda Civic was entered overnight between 6 p.m. Aug. 10 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 11, police said. Nothing was taken.

Attempted burglary

Someone reported that a building in the 600 block of South Washington Street was entered between 1 p.m. Aug. 6 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 11 through the basement by an unsecured door, police said. Once inside, someone kicked open two wooden doors, but it appeared nothing was taken. The damage to the doors was estimated at $1,000.

Vehicle burglary

An 18-year-old woman in the 3700 block of Mandeville Lane reported that between 3:30 p.m. Aug. 10 and 1 p.m. Aug. 11 a red Toyota Yaris parked in the driveway was burglarized, police said. There were no signs of forced entry to the locked car, but a pink iPod Nano was stolen.
