Police Blotter: Suspicious Subjects, Burning Mail, Stolen Lug Nuts

Suspended license

John Paul Jones, 50, of the 2600 block of Prairieview Lane in Aurora, was arrested at 10:32 a.m. at Royal Saint George Drive and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended revoked license and driving while uninsured. His bail was $2,000. 

Possession

  • Mark Hamilton Debroeck, 21, of the 1500 block of Saranell Avenue, was arrested at 11:50 p.m. at Modaff and Bailey roads, police said. He was charged with possession of cannabis, failing to reduce speed/driving too fast for conditions, improper lane use, driving while uninsured and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.
  • Gary Jeat Coyote, 18, of the of the 1200 block of Whispering Hills Court, was arrested at 2:01 p.m. in the 400 block of Valley Drive, said. He was charged with possession of cannabis, less than 2.5 grams and consumption of liquor by a minor. Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot and found the men smoking cannabis, reports said. His bond was $120.
  • Jonathon Antonio Franco, 20, of the 600 block of South Sleight Street, was arrested at 2:01 p.m. in the 400 block of Valley Drive, police said. He was charged with consumption of liquor by a minor and possession of cannabis, less than 2.5 grams. Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot and found the men smoking cannabis, reports said. His bond was $120.

Warrant arrest

  • Police said Steven Wesley Farmer, 24, of the 900 block of John Friend Drive, was arrested at 3:04 p.m. in the 800 block of Pomeroon Street. He was charged on a failure to appear warrant from DuPage County. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Floyd Daniel Farmer, 25, of the 900 block of John Friend Drive, was arrested at 3:04 p.m. in the 800 block of Pomeroon Street, police said. He was charged with obstructing identification and on a warrant. His bail was $1,500.
  • Police said Terrell Devon Smith, 29, of the first block of South Whispering Hills Drive, was arrested at 8:03 p.m. He was charged on a warrant from DuPage County. People were in the vehicle in a lot and the odor of cannabis was coming from the car, police said. The subjects inside admitted to having smoked cannabis, but none was found in the vehicle. Smith was found to have an outstanding warrant. He was taken tot he DuPage County Jail.

Vehicle burglary

A 45-year-old man in the 3700 block of Caine Drive reported seeing a man pulling on the handle of a car parked in the street, police said. He didn’t get into the vehicle and left on foot when he realized he was being watched. 

Criminal damage

  • A 49-year-old woman in the 700 block of Burgess Hill Road reported that someone set fire to her mail inside the mailbox, police said.
  • A 26-year-old man in the 2900 block of White Thorn Circle reported that in January two vehicles were keyed and now he discovered the lug nuts were missing, police said.
