Police Blotter: Stolen Locks, Missing Tablet and a Torn Up Ticket

The Naperville Police Department reports for Sept. 16-18.

Friday, Sept. 16

Battery

Kenneth David Price, 57, of the 1700 block of Penn Court, was arrested at 7:46 p.m. at his home on charges of battery and littering on the highway. Price also was issued a citation on an amplification violation, which he ripped up and threw it on the street. He also threw his coat at the officer, hitting him. His bail was $1,500.

Suspended/Revoked License

Esteban Lozada, 48, of the 400 block of Blue Ridge Drive, Oswego, was arrested at 1 a.m. in the 1800 block of LaSalle Avenue and North Route 59, where he was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and operating a vehicle without insurance. His bail was $2,000.

Trespass

Tong Liu, 21, of the 2800 block of Bluewater Circle, was arrested at 11:19 a.m. in the 400 block of Aurora Avenue on a charge of criminal trespass to land. Her bond was $150.

Possession

  • Brandon John Hatler, 18, of the 1100 block of Baybrook Lane, Carol Stream, was arrested at 11:01 p.m. in the 300 block of South Washington Street on charges of possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was $120.
  • Andrius Vrubliasuskas, 18, of the 13000 block of South Lamont Avenue, Crestwood, was arrested at 11:02 p.m. at 111th Street and 248th Avenue on charges of possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was $120.

Theft

Michele Lynn DeMaria, 20, of the 600 block of Harlowe Court, was arrested at 4:40 a.m. at her home on theft and other charges. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Saturday, Sept. 17

Warrant Arrest

Gerardo B. Leyva, 22, of the 600 block of Barker, Aurora, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of East Ogden Avenue on a failure-to-appear warrant from DuPage County, police said.

Driving Under the Influence

  • Naomi Marie Silagyi, 21, of the 600 block of South Woodlawn Street, Wheaton, was arrested at 2:50 a.m. at West Ogden Avenue and Fort Hill Drive, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use. Her bail was $3,000.
  • Angela Marie Schenone, 33, of the 0 block of S670 Route 59, Warrenville, was arrested at 2:16 a.m. at Interstate 88 and Route 59 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving in the wrong lane, illegal possession/transportation of alcohol by a driver, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured vehicle, improper lane use and failing to notify the secretary of state of an address change. Police said she was involved in a single-vehicle accident. Her bail was $3,000.

Theft

A 31-year-old woman in the 100 block of West Van Buren Avenue reported that someone entered her vehicle and took a Motorola Xoom tablet and a cell phone, police said.

Sunday, Sept. 18

Retail Theft

Saroj Singla, 65, of the 400 block of Sierra Court, was arrested at 2:06 p.m. in the 700 block of Fort Hill Drive on a charge of retail theft.  Her bail was $1,500. According to , she concealed two Schlage doorknob kits in her purse when she was unable to cut them out of the packaging.

Battery

Kyle Allen Fox, 23, of the 31000 block of Kline Circle, was arrested at 1:06 a.m. in the 10 block of West Chicago Avenue on a charge of battery with intent to do bodily harm, police said. His bail was $1,500.

Warrant Arrest

  • Sherman Theodore Smith, 54, of the 400 block of Orleans Avenue, was arrested at 9:26 p.m. at his home on an original warrant from Kane County for contempt of court. His bond was $350.
  • Richard Charles Harper, 54, of the 500 block of Rockwell, Kewanee, was arrested at 8:54 p.m. in the 100 block of 4th Avenue on an original warrant for deceptive practices from Bureau County. His bond was $100.

Criminal Damage to Property

Steve Dean Mennecke, 38, of the 2500 block of Whitehall Lane, was arrested at 1:40 a.m. in the 20 block of East Chicago Avenue on a charge of criminal damage to property. His bond was $120.

Driving Under the Influence

Antonio Ray Goodwin, 27, of the 21000 block of Cormorant Street, Crest Hill, was arrested at 2:53 a.m. at South Naper Boulevard and East 75th Street on two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and charges of driving on a suspended/revoked license and improper lane use. His bail was $3,000.
