Police Blotter: Stolen Lawn Mower, Bicycle and Purse

Tuesday, June 21

Driving under the influence

Bethany Joy Panoff, 31, of the 15000 block of Vista Lane, Plainfield, was arrested at 3:19 a.m. in the 0 block of South Route 59 and Royal Worlington Drive, according to police. She was charged with not driving on the right side of a four-lane highway, possession of cannabis, two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Her bail was set at $3,000.

Police said Jaime Antonio Lugo, 22, of the 22000 block of West Lakeland Trail, Plainfield, was arrested at 1:31 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Washington Street and Redstart Road and he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding over the limit and violation of a bail bond. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

John Edward Larson, 58, of the 1200 block of Springdale Circle was arrested at 10:31 p.m. at East 75thStreet and Naper Boulevard, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured vehicle, illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver, improper lane use and for not having his driver’s license.

Driving while license suspended/revoked

James Lee Drummond, 28, of the 2800 block of Stonewater Drive was arrested at 6:53 p.m. at Cantore Road and South Route 59 where he was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license, not wearing a seat belt and operating an uninsured vehicle, according to police. Bail was set at $2,000.

Trespassing

Maria Lynn VanHaren, 55, of the first block of Miami Court was arrested at 5:48 p.m. in the 20 block of West Bauer Road and charged with criminal trespass to a residence, according to police. Her bail was set at $1,500.

Theft from vehicles

A 37-year-old woman in the 2100 block of Sand Island Court reported that between Monday at 10:30 p.m. and Tuesday at 7 a.m. a GPS was taken from an unlocked vehicle overnight, according to police.

A 45-year-old woman in the 2400 block of High Meadow Road reported that between 9:30 a.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday an open attached garage and an unlocked vehicle were entered by unknown intruders , police said. Three bottles of Blue Moon Summer Wheat beer were taken from a refrigerator in the garage. An iPod 3GS and an empty computer bag were taken from the unlocked vehicle. The loss was about $355.

Police said a 51-year-old woman in the 2700 block of Fairhauser Road reported that between 10 p.m. Monday and 8:25 a.m. Tuesday someone smashed her front passenger window and took a Garmin GPS unit valued at about $200.

A 17-year-old woman in the 2200 block of Riley Court reported that between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. a passenger window was smashed while the vehicle was parked in the driveway and a purse was taken, according to police.

A 54-year-old woman in the 2400 block of Indian Grass Road reported that between 9 p.m. Monday and 9:15 a.m. Tuesday someone smashed the passenger side window and took two CD cases with 96 CD’s in each, police said. The CD’s were of African music. The total loss was estimated at $1,920.

A 44-year-old man in the 2600 block of Midland Drive reported that between 7:15 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday that an unlocked vehicle was gone through and a Swiss Army knife and an EpiPen were stolen, according to police.

Burglary

Police said a 54-year-old man in the 5300 block of Catclaw Court reported that between 8 p.m. Monday and noon Tuesday a red new Toro self-propelled lawn mower was taken from the garage.

Vandalism

A 36-year-old woman in the 3500 block of Frankstowne Court reported that a mailbox was damaged overnight, police said.

A 51-year-old woman in the 3000 block of Seiler Drive reported Tuesday that the flag on her mailbox was bent and broken off sometime between June 12 and June Sunday, according to police.

Thefts

A 42-year-old woman in the 100 block of 4th Avenue reported that a red 21-inch woman’s mountain bike, which was locked in the bike rack, was stolen sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 7:15 p.m., according to police.

A 28-year-old woman in the 300 block of W. 5th Avenue reported that when she was out with friends at a few establishments downtown and her wallet was stolen out of her purse.

Age misrepresented

It was reported that an unknown person attempted to use a fake Illinois ID card to purchase alcohol in the 300 block of S Route 59, police said. The person left prior to the police arriving.
