Police Blotter: Stolen Cell Phone, Driving Under the Influence

Driving under the influence

Elmer Josue Rivas, 28, of the 500 block of Front Street, Aurora, was arrested at 11:32 p.m. in the 800 block of North Eagle Street and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with improper lane use, illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver, driving without insurance, driving on a suspended/revoked license, driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving under the influence and on a warrant. He was charged with a felony, his vehicle was seized, and he was taken to the DuPage County Jail, according to reports.

Warrant arrest

  • Samantha Rose Brandt, 18, of the 500 block of Springhill Circle, was arrested at 6:10 p.m. at the , 1350 Aurora Avenue, where she was charged on a failure to appear warrant from DuPage County, police said. Her bail was $1,000.
  • Roxanne Allen Brown, 23, of the 1100 block of West Ogden Avenue, was arrested at 12:33 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Ogden Avenue, police said. She was charged on a warrant from DuPage County. Her bond was $200.

Theft

Shrishial Malakappa Virupannavar, 50, of the 3500 block of Vanilla Grass Drive, was arrested at 9 p.m. in the 200 block of West Jefferson Avenue, police said. He was charged with theft after being arrested in connection with taking a cell phone that was reported stolen, according to police. His bond was $120.

Suspended license

Kelvin David Price, 25, of the 1700 block of Penn Court, was arrested at 9:18 p.m. in the 400 block of East Bailey Road, where police said he was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license.

Vandalism

A 63-year-old woman in the 1500 block of North Columbia Street reported her landscaping was vandalized between 11 p.m. Saturday and 8:45 a.m. Sunday, police said.
