Police Blotter: Stolen Car, Mailbox Mischief, Driving Under the Influence

Naperville Police Department reports, May 18-20

Friday, May 18

Driving under the influence

  • Miguel Antonio Joaquin, 21, of the 3600 block of Landsdown Avenue, was arrested at 1:04 a.m. near Eldorado court and Skylane Drive, said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of cannabis and expired registration. His bail was $3,000.
  • James Justin Faller, 35, of the 5000 block of Galleria Drive in Farmers Branch, was arrested at 11:48 p.m. near West Van Buren Avenue and South Main Street, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, operating a vehicle without insurance and not wearing a seat belt. His bail was $3,000.
  • William Tremayne Gaston, 35, of the 300 block of Whitewater Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 1:23 a.m. near South Washington Street and East 75th Street, police said. He was charged with no muffler, improper lane usage and driving under the influence of drugs. His bail was $3,000.

No driver’s license

  • Eliseo Fabian-Iturbide, 25, of the 1100 block of Blakley Street in West Chicago, was arrested at 9:57 p.m. near Ferry Road and Route 59, police said. He was charged with no driver’s license and failure to yield turning left. His bond was $1,500.
  • Hector Manuel Lopez-Castellanos, 33, of the 200 block of Kirkwood Lane in Aurora, was arrested at 12:17 a.m. near Aurora Avenue and South Route 59, police said. He was charged with using unsafe tires and no driver’s license. His bond was $150.

Suspended/revoked license

  • Stanley Joseph Wisz, 21, of the 1300 block of Chestnut Ridge Drive, was arrested at 1:06 p.m. in the 1500 block of Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bond was $1,500.
  • Jonathan Holmes Carson, 26, of the 2500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 12:22 a.m. near East Benton Avenue and North Washington Street, police said. He was charged with operating a vehicle without insurance and driving on suspended/revoked license. His bond was $200.

Possession of cannabis

Brendon Scott Lindsey, 20, of the 5S700 block of Ridgeview Road, was arrested at 2:18 a.m. near South Wright Street and Villa Avenue, police said. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis. His bond was $120.

Endangering the life of a child

Lily Genet Alemayehu, 28, of the 4600 block of Lake Valley Drive in Lisle, was arrested at 10:37 p.m. in the 1300 block of Ogden Avenue, police said. She was charged with endangering the life of a child. Her bail was $5,000.

Graffiti

  • Police said the word “snow” was written in black marker on a left arrow sign near Gartner Road and Driftwood Court on Friday morning. The same word was written on a number of electrical boxes .
  • Unknown letters were written in black magic marker on an electrical box near the northwest corner of 6th Avenue and Loomis Street on Friday, police said.

Stolen vehicle

A 57-year-old woman reported that her vehicle parked in a parking lot at 10:30 a.m. on Friday in the 700 block of South Route 59 was discovered missing at noon the same day.

No shorts, no (phone) service

A pair of shorts containing a cell phone and debit card were stolen from a locker in the 2700 block of Fitness Drive on Friday, police said.

Hit, hit and run

A vehicle struck a street sign and then a tree and fled on Friday in the 2000 block of Three Farms Avenue, police said.

Saturday, May 19

Driving under the influence

  • Kevin Young Choie, 24, of the 2700 block of Castle Lane in Rolling Meadows, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. in the first block of Van Buren Avenue, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, operating a vehicle without insurance and not wearing a seat belt. His bond was $120.
  • Eduart Poda, 50, of the first block of Forestview Lane in Aurora, was arrested at 1:34 a.m. in the 1700 block of West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with improper lane usage, operating a vehicle without insurance and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bond was $100.
  • Robert M. Zabel, 18, of the 22000 South Gawain Drive in Joliet, was arrested at 1:17 a.m. in the 3000 block of 111th Street, police said. He was charged with resisting a peace officer, speeding, possession of liquor by a minor and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bond was $100.
  • Police said Nicolas J. Cicero, 21, of the 1500 block of Glenside Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 2:13 a.m. near Royce Road and South Washington Street. He was charged with violating a traffic control device, operating a vehicle without insurance and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bond was $100.
  • Zamman Mir, 30, of the 2800 block of Dorthy Drive in aurora, was arrested at 2:32 a.m. near South West Street and Osler Drive, police said. He was charged with speeding and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bond was $100.
  • Thomas James Kerwin, 48, of the 1400 block of Ambleside Circle, was arrested at 12:10 a.m. near River Road and Lawnmeadow Lane, police said. He was charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, following too close and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.
  • Police said Felix Jesus Montanez, 29, of the 700 block of Inland Circle, was arrested at 11:54 p.m. near East Hillside Road and South Washington Street. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and improper lane usage. His bail was $3,000.  

Resisting a peace officer

Eric Anthony Finlon, 33, of the 700 block of Small Court, was arrested at 1:53 a.m. near West Benton Avenue and South Main Street, police said. He was charged with two counts of resisting a peace officer. His bond was $1,500. 

Mailbox mischief

Mailboxes in the 2300-2400 block of River Woods Drive were damaged and knocked from posts on Saturday between 11:30 p.m. and 2 a.m., police said.

Sunday, May 20

Criminal damage

Curt Cletus Lamothe, 27, of the 1300 block of Snowberry Lane in West Chicago, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. in the first block of East Chicago Avenue, police said. He was charged with criminal damage to property. His bond was $120.

Possession of cannabis

Daniel William Robbins, 19, of the 8200 block of Springfield Avenue in Skokie, was arrested at 12:52 a.m. in the 400 block of South Brainard Street, police said. He was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was $120.

Driving under the influence

  • Hal Fletcher Olmedo, 23, of the 400 block of Aspen Court, was arrested at 1:55 a.m. near South Brainard Street and East Jefferson Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license, improper lane usage, operating a vehicle without insurance and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000. 
  • Vladimir Galkin, 22, of the 2800 block of Stonewater Drive, was arrested at 12:09 a.m. near Aurora Avenue and South Eagle Street, police said. He was charged with operating a vehicle without insurance, failure to give a signal, disobeying a traffic control device and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.
