Police Blotter: Snoozing at Green Light, Stolen Flatscreen TV, Trampoline Burns

Naperville Police Department reports, Dec. 23-26

Friday, Dec. 23

Possession

Douglas D. Seifert, 53, of the 200 block of North Avenue, was arrested at 12:44 a.m. in the 1200 block of East Ogden Avenue and Naperville-Wheaton Road, said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of cannabis, more than 2.5 grams and less than 10 grams, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. 

Driving under the influence

  • Nicholas J. Maher, 23, of the 7S300 block of Marion Way, was arrested at 12:45 a.m. at East Chicago Avenue and South Wright Street, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and disobeying a stop sign. His bond was $100.
  • Justin Nicholas Olson, 33, of the 200 block of North Mill Street, was arrested at 12:12 a.m. at South Route 59 and Audrey Avenue, police said. He was charged with speeding over the limit, defective side/rear windshield, expired registrations, driving without insurance, improper lane use and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was $3,000.
  • Stephen A. Schwahn, 46, of the 500 block of Seneca Lane in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 1:21 a.m. in the 4100 block of Plainfield-Naperville Road and 104th Street, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, making an improper turn at an intersection, following too close, speeding and failing to signal. His bond was $100.
  • James H. Anderson, 27, of the 200 block of Cherokee Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 12:51 a.m. in the 800 block of South Route 59 and McCoy Drive, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper parking on a roadway.  He was found slumped over the steering wheel and sleeping at a green light, police said.

License violations charged

  • Joseph A. McGuiness, 19, of the 700 block of Burgess Hill Road, was arrested at 12:56 a.m. in the 1300 block of Plainfield-Naperville Road, police said. He was charged with driving without a license.
  • Alfredo Real-Garduno, 29, of the 100 block of Thornhurst Road in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 1:28 a.m. in the 700 block of Fort Hill Drive and Feldott Lane, police said. He was charged with illegal lane use and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $1,500.
Saturday, Dec. 24

Driving under the influence

  • Joseph Frank Spinasanto, 45, of the 1900 block of Somerset Drive in Romeoville, was arrested at 2:25 a.m. at South Washington Street and Foxcroft Road, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. His bond was $100.
  • Kelly Madalene Hunt, 24, of the 40 block of Elmwood Drive, was arrested at 2:18 a.m. at South Washington Street and Sycamore Drive, police said. She was charged with driving on the wrong side of a divided road, making an improper lane change without using a signal, speeding, violating the lights and lamps act and driving under the influence of alcohol. Her bail was $3,000.
  • Frank Michael Lamark, 33, of the 800 block of Chancel Circle in Glen Ellyn, was arrested at 12:41 a.m. in the 700 block of North Washington Street and West 8th Avenue, police said. He was charged with disobeying a traffic control signal and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bond was $100.

Warrant arrest

  • Erskine E. Williams, 27, of the 25000 block of Thornberry Drive in Plainfield, was arrested at 2:41 a.m. in the 500 block of Milton Drive, police said. He was charged on an original warrant from DeKalb County. His bail was $5,000.
  • Christopher Thomas Faurot, 30, of the 600 block of North Loomis Street, was arrested at 5 a.m. in the 800 block of Center Street, police said. He was charged on two failure to appear warrants from DuPage County. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. 

Arson

A resident in the 100 block of Kingswood Court reported that between 2 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday someone used an incendiary device to damage a trampoline in the backyard, according to police. The damage was estimated at $450.

Criminal damage

A resident in the 200 block of South Main Street reported that someone kicked in the doors on both sides of their vehicle overnight causing extensive damage to the doors, police said. The estimated damage was in excess of $1,500.

Theft

A business in the 700 block of South Route 59 reported that a man walked out an emergency exit with a 32” LCD TV and did not pay for it, police said. The TV was valued at $300.

Sunday, Dec. 25

Harassment

Mark Russell Frakes, 37, of the 100 block of Coventry Court, was arrested at 1:22 a.m. at his home, police said. He was charged with telephone harassment. His bond was $150.

Possession

Kevin H. Stinson, 53, of the 30 block of South Oakhurst in Aurora, was arrested at 2:11 p.m. at River Road and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving in the wrong lane, having an expired registration, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without insurance. 

Warrant arrest

Barbara Esparza Rodriguez, 41, of the 2200 block of Mulberry Court in Aurora, was arrested at 11:12 p.m. at West Ogden Avenue and North River Road, police said. She was charged on a failure to appear warrant. Her bond was $210.

Monday, Dec. 26 

Possession

  • Alexander Paul Bisenius, 20, of the 1100 block of West George Street in Chicago, was arrested at 2:39 p.m. in the 800 block of South Route 59 and McCoy Drive, police said. He was charged with failing to signal, driving on a suspended/revoked license, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis, less than 2.5 grams. His bail was $1,500.
  • Ryan Joseph Murphy, 22, of the 3000 block of Clifton Court in Aurora, was arrested at 2:39 p.m. in the 800 block of South Route 59 and McCoy Drive, police said. He was charged with possession of cannabis, more than 2.5 grams and less than 10 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was $1,500.

Retail theft

Jason L. Faiola, 33, of the 700 block of Inland Circle, was arrested at 8:56 p.m. at Walmart, 776 S. Route 59, police said. He was charged with two counts of retail theft and criminal damage to property. His bail was $1,500. He cut open a cell phone box and left the store with a SIM card, according to police. 

Revoked license

Richard H. Baker, 62, of the 300 block of Martin Avenue, was arrested at 8:41 p.m. in the 1200 block of Ogden Avenue and North River Road, police said. He was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license, second offense. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Aggravated assault

Brandon Michael Reid, 33, of the 600 block of Clover Court, was arrested at 4:36 a.m. in the 600 block of Spring Avenue, police said. He was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault. His bail was $1,500.

Disorderly conduct

Nicholas W. Salmieri, 31, of the 900 block of Fairway Drive, was arrested at 11:13 p.m. at his home, police said. He was charged with disorderly conduct - alarmed and disturbed. His bond was $120.

Warrant arrest

Phillip David Rathe, 30, of the 1600 block of Brookdale Road, was arrested at 7:18 p.m. at his home, police said. He was charged on a failure to appear warrant. His bail was $3,000.
