Police Blotter: Smashing Pumpkins, Huffing, Asleep and in Possession

Naperville Police Department reports, Nov. 18-20

Friday, Nov. 18

Possession

Thomas Roy Hall, 18, of the 500 block of South Main Street, was arrested at 9:26 p.m. in the 1200 block of South Washington Street, police said. He was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was $120. Everado Flores-Carmona, 24, of the 100 block of Larchmont Way, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 9:28 p.m. in the 1200 block of South Washington Street, police said. He was charged with possession of cannabis and driving without a license. His bail was $1,500. Police said that one of the men, Hall, was found sleeping inside his vehicle and the responding officer detected the odor of cannabis. The man admitted he was in possession of cannabis. Then, a second man, Flores-Carmona, drove up and had no valid license and also was in possession of cannabis, according to police.

Suspended license

Miguel Angel Macias, 30, of the 100 block of Woodland Road, Carpentersville, was arrested at 3:08 p.m. in the 2900 block of Audrey Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving with unsafe tires, driving an overweight truck, driving without insurance and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $2,500.

Warrant arrest

  • Arthur Scott, 28, of the 700 block of Royal Saint George Drive, was arrested at 8:22 p.m. at his home where he was charged on an original warrant for theft/deception, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Christopher William Skedd, 22, of the 600 block of Arlington Avenue, was arrested at 12:42 a.m. in the 2000 block of South Naper Boulevard, police said. He was charged on a failure to appear warrant. His bail was $25,000.
  • Scott Anthony Riva, 19, of the 1000 block of East Gartner Road, was arrested at 12:38 p.m. at the , 1350 Aurora Avenue, police said. He was charged on an original warrant for driving under the influence of drugs, manufacturing/delivering controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Derrick Lamont Branch, 42, of the 4400 block of West Augusta Boulevard, Chicago, was arrested at 26th Street and California Avenue, Chicago, where he was charged on an original warrant for theft and possession of a controlled substance, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Michael David Peterson, 29, of the 100 block of Reese Street, Hinckley, was arrested at 11:30 a.m. at the Naperville Police Department, police said. He was charged on an original warrant for reckless driving and failing to give aid or inform.

Unlawful use

Eric Michael Long, 36, of the 400 block of Seminary Avenue, Aurora, was arrested at 1:09 p.m. in the 800 block of South Route 59 where he was charged with unlawful use of intoxicating compounds. He was arrested for the for huffing while seated in his vehicle, police said.

Theft

Margaret Rodriguez, 51, of the 200 block of T Street, Aurora, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. in the 700 block of Fort Hill Drive, police said. She was charged with retail theft. Her bond was $120.

Burglary

A 33-year-old woman in the 1100 block of Iroquois Avenue reported that between 1 and 3:30 p.m. someone entered her unlocked apartment while she was attending a party downstairs and took her video game system and two games.

Saturday, Nov. 19

Suspended license

Damarcus T. Allen, 29, of the 3400 block of Silverleaf Drive, Joliet, was arrested at 2:14 a.m. at East 75th Street and Gladstone Drive, police said. He was charged with driving without insurance and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $2,000.

Possession

Bradley Charles Marckese, 20, of the 1400 block of Swallow Street, was arrested at 10:19 p.m. in the 1700 block of Windward Avenue and Tudor Drive, police said. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was $120.

Driving under the influence

  • Thomas J. Meehan, 23, of the 1500 block of Branford Lane, was arrested at 3:41 a.m. at Book Road and 83rd Street, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, two counts of driving over the speed limit, failing to signal, illegal lane use, driving without insurance and on a warrant. His bail was $3,000.
  • Jose E. Moreno, 18, of the first block of Scots Drive, was arrested at 12:02 a.m. at North Aurora Road and Frontenac Road, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper use of a registration or title, driving without insurance, an expired registration and failing to signal. His bail was $3,000.
  • Jordan Robert Lane, 23, of the 1600 block of Lonsdale Avenue, was arrested at 2:12 a.m. at Rickert Drive and Lonsdale Avenue, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to signal and failing to give the right of way to an emergency vehicle. His bail was $3,000.
  • Jeannelle Liz Moreno, 25, of the 1600 block of Country Lakes Drive, was arrested at 4:41 a.m. in the 1600 block of Country Lakes Drive and West Diehl Road, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal lane use and driving without insurance.
  • Mary Eileen Sandberg, 20, of the 400 block of Knights Bridge Court, Oswego, was arrested at 3:31 a.m. in the 1300 block of Plainfield-Naperville Road, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, using unsafe tires, consumption of liquor by a minor, zero tolerance law and possession of a fake ID card. Her bail was $3,000.

Driving without a license

Angelica Solis, 31, of the 1500 block of Georgia Court, was arrested at 8:34 p.m. in the 400 block of River Bend Road and Aurora Avenue, police said. She was charged with improper lane use, failing to signal and driving without a license. Her bail was $1,500.

Criminal defacement

Someone reported that someone climbed tot he roof and spray painted “School Sucks” in white spray paint on f the HVAC unit on the north side of River Woods Elementary in the 2600 block of River Woods Drive. A swastika was also spray painted in red. The custodian cleaned it up prior to police arriving. 

Criminal damage

A 22-year-old man in the 2400 block of Fawn Lake Circle reported that a mailbox was smashed by a pumpkin, police said.

Sunday, Nov. 20

Suspended license

Maisie Therese Kolin, 23, of the 900 block of Elm Court, was arrested at 5:35 p.m. in the first block of Rhodes Lane and Elm Court, police said. She was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and disobeying a traffic control device. Her bail was $1,500.

Theft of services

Julian DeJesus Romo-Herrera, 28, of the 800 block of Benedetti Drive, was arrested at 11:39 p.m. in the 800 block of Benedetti Drive, where he was charged with theft of labor/service, police said. His bail was $1,500.

Possession

John Steven Zeman, 22, of the 200 block of North Huffman Street, was arrested at 2:50 a.m. in the 500 block of South Main Street, police said. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis and on a warrant. His bond was $120.

Criminal damage

  • A 55-year-old man in the 2300 block of Wild Timothy Road reported that someone threw a pumpkin at a metal mailbox breaking the mailbox and its wooden post. The value was $100, police said.
  • A 44-year-old woman in the 2600 block of Saltmeadow Road, reported that sometime overnight someone threw a pumpkin at her mailbox, police said.
