Police Blotter: Retail Theft, Forgery, Bashed Mailboxes

Warrant arrest

Dennis James Earley, 27, of the 2800 block of Amli Drive, Aurora, was arrested at 4:19 p.m. at the , 1350 Aurora Ave, police said. He was charged on an original warrant for criminal sex abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 17. His bail was $3,000.

Retail theft

James Steven Winship, 28, of the 100 bloc of Testa Drive, was arrested at 6:33 p.m. at 2607 W. 75th St., police said. He was charged with retail theft. His bail was $1,500.

Forgery

Erica Joan Veno, 18, of the 14000 block of Longview Lane, Plainfield, was arrested at 10:25 p.m. in the 200 block of South Brainard Street, where police said she was charged with forgery. Her bail was $1,500.

Criminal damage

A 54-year-old man in the 2100 block of Templar Drive reported his mailbox was damaged overnight between Saturday and Sunday, police said. It appeared that a baseball bat type object was used to shatter the mailbox. The man noticed that other mailboxes on the street were also damaged.

Theft

A resident in the 1700 block of West Ogden Avenue reported that a license plate was missing from a vehicle parked in a lot, police said.
