Police Blotter: Rabbit Sketch Scrawled on Bathroom Stall; Rings Stolen

Tuesday, April 26

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Timothy A. Dear, 22, of the 1500 block of Raymond Drive in , was arrested around 4 p.m. in the 1300 block of Crab Apple Court, police said. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and his bail was set at $120.

Retail theft

Police said Demarco Hughes, 23, of the 1300 block of Crab Apple Court in , was arrested around 4 p.m. at his home and charged with retail theft. His bail was set at $6,000.

Computer tampering

Police said Jay W. Dunsing, 50, of the 29W100 block of Butterfield Road in Warrenville, was arrested around 11:45 a.m. at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Ave., on an original warrant. He was charged with computer tampering and his bail was set at $3,000.

Warrant arrest

Anna Z. Churtron, 32, of the 1200 block of Chalet Road in , was arrested around 8:20 a.m. at her home on an original warrant out of DuPage County, police said. Her bail was set at $2,000.

Criminal trespassing

Lyman R. Sadlick, 50, of the 700 block of Beaver Drive in , was arrested around 12:30 a.m. at his home, police said. He was charged with knowingly damaging property, criminal trespassing to a residence and disorderly conduct. Police said he had entered a residence near his home while the residents were sleeping.

Super-glued locks

A 54-year-old woman, of the 1200 block of Whispering Hills Court in , reported that the locks on her doors had been filed with super glue. She said she believed someone glued them between 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., according to the police report.

Shattered windows

Police said a vandal shattered windows and glass doors of a building in the 3400 block of LaCrosse Lane in . The damage was discovered around 7:30 p.m.

Ring theft, an inside job

A 52-year-old woman, of the 800 block of Beaumont Drive in , said that her 26-year-old son broke into her lock box and stole several rings that belonged to her parents, who are dead, according to police. She reported the theft around 4 p.m.

More local spray-painting

Police said someone spray painted the side of a building in the 2000 block of Rickert Drive in . They said they believed the graffiti occurred between 5 p.m. Monday and 12 p.m. Tuesday.

Burglary to a vehicle

A 24-year-old man, whose vehicle was parked in the 1600 block of Brookdale Road in , reported Tuesday that someone broke into his locked car and stole a Mac Book pro laptop computer valued at around $1,500. He said there were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle and that he believed the break-in occurred between 11 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday.

Bicycle taken

A 48-year-old woman, of the 1000 block of Huntleigh Drive in , reported Tuesday that a sliver, Fuji bicycle was missing from her front yard. She said she believed it was stolen between 6 p.m. March 30 and 10 p.m. March 31.

Rabbit drawing on bathroom stall

Police said someone reported that the inside wall of a bathroom stall of a building in the 1200 block of Rickert Drive in  had been defaced. A rabbit head with its right ear bent downward with a pitchfork through it was drawn in black marker, along with the letters "GSTW." The defacement was discovered shortly after 2 p.m.
