Police Blotter: Prostitution, Flushed Diamond Wedding Ring, Missing Dining Set

Friday, Aug. 12

Assault

Jason Christopher Hos, 38, of the 0 block of N. Laird Street, was arrested at 8:31 p.m. in the 2800 block of W. Ogden Avenue where he was charged with assault, police said. His bail was set at $1,500.

Prostitution

  • Melissa N. Zator, 34, of the 7000 block of W. 177th Place, Tinley Park, was arrested at 9:04 p.m. in the 1600 block of W. Diehl Road and N. Route 59, police said. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and prostitution.
  • Amy Lynn Stack, 36, of the 16000 block of Brementowne Drive, Tinley Park, was arrested at 9:04 p.m. in the 1600 block of W. Diehl Road and N. Route 59, police said. She was charged with prostitution and on a warrant. Her bail was set at $1,500.

Property damage

  • A 49-year-old man in the 1100 block of Samstag Court, reported at 2:48 a.m. that a vandal broke his kitchen window, police said.
  • A 63-year-old man in the 2100 block of Fulham Drive reported that between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday someone shot at his left rear window with an unknown weapon, according to police.

Stolen vehicle

A caller reported finding a stolen U-Haul van left on a lot in the 600 block of N. Washington Street between 11:30 p.m. Thursday and 9:36 a.m. Friday, police said.

Stolen property

  • A 57-year-old woman in the 1100 block of Royal St. George reported that her dining room furniture set went missing from her unlocked storage unit sometime around Mother's Day in May, police said.
  • Two iPod touch cases were reported stolen and recovered with apprehension at 5:25 p.m. in the 700 block of S. Route 59, police said.
  • A 34-year-old man in the 0 block of W. Jefferson Avenue reported that between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. his cell phone was stolen from an outside dining table at a restaurant, police said.

Mischievous behavior

  • A 25-year-old woman in the 200 block of S. Route 59 reported at 3:03 p.m. that a vandal poured cheese sauce on her car, police said. There was no damage to the vehicle.
  • A 29-year-old woman in the 800 block of Wilson Avenue reported that she thinks her 30-month-old daughter either flushed her $7,000 wedding ring down the toilet or threw it in the garbage sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday, police said.
  • A 17-year-old woman in the 800 block of Burning Tree Lane reported at 11:51 p.m. that her vehicle was egged while it was parked in front of the house, police said.
Saturday, Aug. 13

Driving under the influence

  • Alexander Irwin Frueh, 18, of the 1100 block of Olympus Drive was arrested at 12:36 a.m. at Wehrli and Hidden Valley drives, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence, disobeying a stop sign, possession of liquor by a minor and consumption of liquor by a minor, police said. His bond was set at $100.
  • Joshua Jesus Borrero, 22, of the 3000 block of Diversy, Chicago, was arrested at 2:45 a.m. at Plainfield-Naperville Road and Gateshead Drive, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs, speeding, improper lane use, driving on a suspended/revoked license and operating an uninsured vehicle. His bail was set at $3,000.

Retail theft

Mario Ahmad Merritt, 24, of the 400 block of E. Bailey Road, was arrested at 3:03 p.m. in the 700 block of S. Route 59 where he was charged with retail theft, police said. His bail was set at $1,500. He brought several items to the customer service counter and returned them for a debit to a gift card, police said.

Resisting an officer

Anna Zofia Churton, 32, of the 1200 block of Chalet Road, was arrested at 7:23 p.m. at home, police said. She was charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting an officer and knowingly damaging property. She was arrested after punching and biting an officer investigating an incident. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Sunday, Aug. 14

Possession

  • John Joseph Foresta, 21, of the 2700 block of Laurel Court, Woodridge, was arrested at 12:13 a.m. in the 100 block of S. Washington Street, police said. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis. His bond was set at $120.
  • Ryan Anthony Holsman, 21, of the 2600 block of Crabtree Avenue, was arrested at 12:14 a.m. in the 100 block of S. Washington Street where he was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. His bond was $120.

Driving under the influence

  • Roel Gomez-Ramirez, 35, of the 1300 block of Dearborn Avenue, Aurora, was arrested at 12:38 a.m. at S. Route 59 and Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, using unsafe tires, driving without a license and operating an uninsured vehicle. His bail was set at $3,000.
  • Jose M. Lazaro, 43, of the 4600 block of S. Mozart, Chicago, was arrested at 12:54 a.m. at N. Route 59 and Ferry Road, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver and two counts of improper lane use. The car was stopped for driving on the shoulder of the road, police said. His bond was $100.
  • Juan Martinez Perales, 34, of the 3000 block of Middlebury Court, Aurora, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. at 75th Street and Ogden Avenue, Aurora, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended/revoked license and making an improper turn at an intersection. His bail was set at $3,000.
  • Pravin Jaikkrishin Advani, 39, of the 3300 block of Rosecroft Lane, was arrested at 4 a.m. at Meridian Park and N. Route 59, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to give a signal and following too close. His bail was set at $3,000.

Revoked/suspended license

  • Jessica Lauren Gunther, 20, of the 200 block of Galewood Drive, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 12:50 a.m. in the 1200 block of S. Washington Street and W. 75th Street where she was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license, police said. Her bail was set at $1,500.
  • Erik Dimitri Pachnik, 33 of the 1300 block of Fairfield Court, was arrested at 1:36 a.m. at S. Route 59 and Ogden Avenue, where he was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license, police said. His bail was set at $1,500.
  • Alan James Armour, 22, of the 5600 block of Aubrey Terrace, Downers Grove, was arrested at 9:54 p.m. at N. Route 59 and the 100 block of E. Interstate 88 where he was charged with following too close, driving on a suspended/revoked license and operating an uninsured vehicle, police said. His bail was set at $2,000.

Theft

  • A caller in the 100 block of S. Washington Street reported at 11:27 a.m. that two teenage girls entered the store and one girl wearing a shirt that said “State” emptied cosmetics into her bag, police said.
  • A 30-year-old man in the 1100 block of Iroquois Avenue reported that his bicycle was stolen after he pumped up the tires and left his bike unattended in the storage area of the underground apartment garage, police said. 

Illegal possession of liquor

Danny Rodriguez, 36, of the 2000 block of Kedvale, Chicago, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. at N. Route 59 and Ferry Road, police said. He was charged with illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a passenger. His bond was set at $120.

Mischievous behavior

A 60-year-old man in the 1400 block of Stonegate Road reported that between 3 p.m. Saturday and 12:45 a.m. Sunday someone spread feces on his mailbox, garage door and window, police said. He also reported his satellite dish cable was broken and a drainpipe was broken.
