Police Blotter: Possession, Stolen Pumpkins and a Missing Diaper Bag

The Naperville Police Department reports for Oct. 10.

Monday, Oct. 10

Possession

David Anthony Sosa, 21, of the 2 South 600 block of Hampton Drive, Warrenville, was arrested at 12:34 p.m. in the 1600 block of Diehl Road.  said he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He was taken to the DuPage County Youth Home. 

Warrant arrest

Kevin Alan Banovz, 32, of the 500 block of Fessler Avenue, was arrested at 9:16 p.m. in the 800 block of West 75th Street. He was charged on a failure to appear warrant from LaSalle County, police said. He was stopped while riding his bicycle. His bail was $4,000.

Uninsured

Olga Lucia Garcia, 48, of the 700 block of Kane Street, Aurora, was arrested at 11:58 p.m. at Cantore Road and South Route 59, police said. She was charged with driving without a license and without insurance. Her bail was $2,000.

Vehicle burglary

  • A 33-year-old woman in the 1300 block of Crab Apple Court left her vehicle door open by mistake when she arrived home, police said. When her husband arrived home an hour later he found the door still wide open. The woman checked the vehicle and found her diaper bag and wallet missing.
  • A 66-year-old man in the 900 block of Timber Lee Court reported that between 9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday a Garmin GPS was taken from his vehicle while it was parked in the driveway.

Theft

A 42-year-old woman in the 1300 block of Royal Saint George Drive reported that between 7 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday someone stole pumpkins that were sitting next to her home’s front door, police said.

Criminal damage

A 41-year-old woman in the 1200 block of Johnson Drive reported that between 9 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday someone damaged the mailbox leaving it unusable, police said.
