Police Blotter: Possession of Meth, Retail Theft, Underage Drinking

Naperville Police Department reports, June 12

Tuesday, June 12

Possession of methamphetamine

Kevin Thomas Morin, 22, of the 2400 block of Adams Street in Columbus, Ohio was arrested at 8:14 p.m. near Millbrook Drive and West 75th Street, said. He was charged with not wearing a seat belt, speeding, operating a vehicle without insurance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of drugs. He was transported to DuPage County Jail.

Warrant arrest

  • Pedro Alvarado-Flores, 28, of the 700 block of Inland Circle, was arrested at 11:26 p.m. at his residence, police said. He was charged on a failure-to-appear warrant and transported to DuPage County Jail.
  • Ruth Arlene Jacobson, 66, of the 1200 block of Chalet Road, was arrested at 3:44 p.m. at her residence, police said. She was charged with fugitive from justice and a failure-to-appear warrant. She was transported to DuPage County Jail.
  • Police said Roberto Garriga, 52, of the 2000 block of Evergreen Lane in Round Lake Beach, was arrested at 8:23 p.m. near West 75th Street and Book Road. He was charged with operating a vehicle without insurance, driving on suspended/revoked license, speeding, no restraint for a child under 4-years and a failure-to-appear warrant. He was transported to DuPage County Jail.
  • Filadelfia Garriga, 49, of the 2000 block of Evergreen Lane in Round Lake Beach, was arrested at 8:23 p.m. near West 75th Street and Book Road, police said. She was charged on a failure-to-appear warrant. Her bail was $3,000.

Retail theft

Tennyson Loren Gibson, 29, of the first block of Olympus Drive, was arrested at 12:11 p.m. near Aurora Avenue and South Washington Street, police said. He was charged with retail theft. His bond was $1,500.

No driver's license 

Elmer Alexander Ortiz-Hernandez, 18, of the 1600 block of Fordham Street in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 4:39 p.m. near Book Road and West 75th Street, police said. He was charged with no driver’s license, operating a vehicle without insurance and speeding. His bail was $2,000.

Keys found

Seven keys on a key ring were located in the 200 block of South Washington Street, police said.

Vehicles entered

  • A vehicle was entered overnight while parked in a driveway in the 1100 block of Langley Circle, but nothing was taken, police said.
  • An unlocked vehicle parked overnight in a driveway in the 1200 block of Bainbridge Drive was entered and change as well as a watch were removed in, police said.

Lost dog

A dog was reported lost in the 1000 block of Hyde Park Lane, police said

Lost cat

A cat was reported lost in the 200 block of Cedarbrook Road, police said.

Duffel bag found

A duffel bag was located in the bushes near Trent Avenue and Abbotsford Drive, police said.

Stolen bikes

  • Someone reported that their son’s unsecured bicycle was stolen from his front yard between June 4 and 5 in the 1100 block of Tuthill Road, police said.
  • A black/orange Giant brand bike valued at $150 and a blue Giant brand bike valued at $200 were stolen between 4:30 and 9 p.m. in the first block of West Bailey Road. Both bikes were unlocked, police said.

Property theft 

Copper buss bars were removed from a tower in the 1800 block of South Washington Street. Police said the bars are 14-16 inches long with holes in them for numerous cable attachments. The bars were stolen between January and June. 

Purse found

A purse was left on a doorstep in the 1200 block of Bainbridge Drive, police said.

Vandalism

Air conditioning units were spray painted in the 1100 block of Oswego Road, police said.

Underage drinking 

Four youths were cited for consumption of alcohol in the 2000 block of Thornhill Court, police said.
