Police Blotter: Possession of Cannabis, Violin Goes Missing, DUI

Possession of cannabis

Nathaniel Vaughn Laut, 18, of the 1600 block of Auburn Avenue, was arrested at 2:55 p.m. at the , police said. He was charged with possession of cannabis greater than 2.5 grams less than 10 grams and manufacture/delivery of cannabis 2.5 to 10 grams. His bond was $150.

Christopher Mario Johnson, 44, of the 900 block of Asbury Drive in Aurora, was arrested at 11:42 a.m. in the 4900 block of Forest Avenue in Downers Grove, police said. He was charged with dumping garbage upon real property, battery/bodily harm and battery. His bail was $1,500.

Suspended/revoked license

  • Reginald Edward Cowles, 27, of the 500 block of Iowa Avenue in Aurora, was arrested at 5:35 p.m. near 83 rd Street and South Route 59, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and not wearing a seat belt. His bond was $150.
  • Seth Ryan Yates, 29, of the 800 block of Mills Road in Joliet, was arrested at 8:07 a.m. near East 75th Street and South Naper Boulevard, police said. He was charged with operating a vehicle without insurance and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $2,000.

Driving under the influence

Alexander James Rios, 21, of the 600 block of Bull Run Court, was arrested at 1:33  a.m. near Hobson Road and Shadow Creek Lane, police said. He was charged with improper lane usage, traffic control violation, driving under the influence of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, no front/rear plate/permit display, illegal possession/transportation of liquor and speeding. His bail was $3,000.

Slide damaged

A playground slide was damaged in the 3700 block of Lawrence Drive, police said.

Missing violin

A rented violin was reported missing from a school in the 1800 block of Brookdale Road, police said.

Stolen license plates

License plates were stolen from a vehicle in the 2200 block of Aurora Avenue, police said.
